Northern Regional College has collaborated with Belfast-based Samuel Johnston Baby to bring to life the revolutionary Snooze Secure product, an innovative, research-led sleep solution designed to help prevent cot death. The partnership was supported by Invest Northern Ireland through its Innovation Voucher Programme, enabling Samuel Johnston Baby to tap into Northern Regional College’s advanced technical expertise.

Almost forty years after studying Construction at Northern Regional College in Ballymena, two alumni have returned to their old ‘stomping ground’, this time playing a pivotal role in developing the College’s new Ballymena campus. Colin Michael from Maghera and Richard Lennox from Cullybackey first crossed paths in the mid-1980s while completing an ONC in Construction Studies at Ballymena Technical College. After following different career paths, they reunited in 2022 when both became involved in the Colleges’ redevelopment project.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Northern Regional College organised a special visit to the construction site of the highly anticipated new Primark store at Fairhill Shopping Centre in Ballymena. The visit, spearheaded by Cherith Simpson, Lecturer in Construction & Built Environment at the College, aimed to encourage female students to consider a career in construction. Female pupils from local post-primary schools in the Ballymena area, along with Northern Regional College Construction students, had the opportunity to gain a first-hand insight into the world of construction.
