Three talented electrical installation apprentices from Northern Regional College have been named finalists in the highly anticipated NI Electrical Awards 2025. Lewis Armour and Emeka Onwuka, both based at the College’s Newtownabbey campus, and Leah Henry, who recently completed her apprenticeship at Ballymena Campus (Farm Lodge), are in the running for Electrical Apprentice of the Year. The winners will be revealed at a gala event in the iconic Titanic Building, Belfast on 6th June.

As Northern Regional College prepares to close the doors of their Farm Lodge and Trostan Avenue campuses in Ballymena this month, staff, students, governors and members of the local community celebrated together to bid a final farewell to the campuses. The evening was full of nostalgia as current and former staff and students gathered to reminisce and share cherished memories of their time at the College.

Jamie Matthews, a Northern Regional College and Mivan apprentice Joiner from Antrim is heading to Denmark in September, to test their skills against the crème de la crème of Europe at EuroSkills Herning 2025. It is Europe’s largest skills competition and takes place from 9-13 September.

Northern Regional College is delighted to celebrate the success of Jasmine Radcliffe, a former student who has been awarded the prestigious JP McManus All Ireland Scholarship. Jasmine from Newtownabbey, who studied the Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice at the College, will receive £5,500 each year for the duration of her undergraduate degree in Animation at Ulster University.
